  Chief Warrant Officer Kenneth Scott Kahle, of Jacksonville, Florida, enlisted in the Coast Guard in February of 1999. Upon completion of recruit training, he attended Quartermaster “A” School in Yorktown, Virginia and graduated in August of 1999. His first operational unit was the Coast Guard Cutter VALIANT (WMEC 621), home ported in Miami Beach, Florida.

  His subsequent tours of duty include: Operations Petty Officer of USCGC HAMMER (WLIC 75302), in Atlantic Beach, Florida; Executive Petty Officer of Aids to Navigation Team Jacksonville Beach, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida; Officer in Charge of Aids to Navigation Team Kenosha, in Kenosha, Wisconsin; Officer in Charge of Aids to Navigation Team Key West, in Key West, Florida; Officer in Charge of USCGC HAMMER (WLIC 75302), in Atlantic Beach, Florida; Commanding Officer of USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI 642), in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and the Aids to Navigation Officer of Sector Ohio Valley.

  CWO Kahle’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (with “O”
device), three Coast Guard Commendation Medals (with “O” device), three Coast Guard Achievement Medals (with “O” device), two Coast Guard Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbons (with “O” device), five Coast Guard Good Conduct Awards and the Coast Guard Basic Training Honor Graduate Ribbon.

  He has earned a permanent Cutterman insignia, and Advance Boat Forces Operations insignia.

ATTENTION FACILITY OWNERS and OPERATORS

EIGHTH WESTERN RIVERS REGION DISTRICT SEARCH AND RESCUE COMPETITION

 Our District has been asked to provide two teams to compete in this June 7-9 event in Kimberling, Missouri.  If your division has a team or would like to put a team together, please let me know as soon as you can as the district needs to decide which teams get to compete in plenty of time for people's schedules and to get orders.  If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
